Beyerdynamic Conference System for Griffith University
3 April 2009
A Beyerdynamic Conference System has been installed in the Council Chamber of the Gold Coast Campus of Griffith University.
The requirement was for a permanently installed under-desk style conference system to preserve the clean lines of the room. Specified by Michael Comiskey - Audiovisual Infrastructure Specialist for Griffith University, the Beyer MCS-50 system was supplied by Videopro and installed by the University's technical staff. The installation includes 26 x Beyerdynamic MCS533L under desk chairman/delegate stations with gooseneck microphones and piezo operating buttons. The under desk units are daisy chained and connect back to a rack mount MCS-50 control unit and power supply. The MCS-50 system also includes MCS Control software, allowing meetings to be controlled from either a PC or the in-house control system.
The installation also includes a quantity of Australian Monitor AV2-2P convection cooled power amplifiers to drive the chamber ceiling speakers. The system not only looks great but works well, and is used for variety of meetings including regular gatherings of the university council.
